A registered, non-profit Association
The International Association for Applied Corneotherapy (I.A.C.) is an independent, registered, non-profit professional association dedicated to advancing the science and clinical application of corneotherapy. It brings together dermatologists, researchers, skin treatment practitioners, educators, and other professionals from around the world to promote collaboration, education, and evidence-based practice.
Our German registered association was founded in 2013, and its global members collaborate to share and distribute information and findings from the realm of Corneotherapy and its related sciences for the benefit of the Corneotherapy community.
The Association supports the profession by facilitating scientific exchange through conferences, symposia, educational resources, publications, and professional networking. It also encourages research, promotes high standards of clinical practice, and works to develop recognised educational pathways and qualifications for practitioners of corneotherapy.
At its core, the I.A.C.'s directive is to preserve the scientific integrity of corneotherapy by promoting an evidence-based approach centred on the repair and maintenance of the skin barrier.
The Association maintains a neutral position regarding commercial products and brands, advocating for clinical decisions to be guided by scientific evidence, practitioner expertise, and the principles of corneotherapy rather than commercial influence.
In 2025, the association held its 9th International Symposium on Corneotherapy in Potsdam, Germany. The event attracted members of the international Corneotherapy community from over 12 countries.
Facilities and channels to be used
- The provision of a sharing community via the www.corneotherapy.org website that features libraries of information, studies, protocols and other related data that advances the practice of Corneotherapy.
- To facilitate symposiums, conferences and workshops globally.
- To establish and support “Corneotherapy” as a subject in Wikipedia.
- To create an online journal for members.
- Facilitate communication among members of the I.A.C. through social media platforms such as Facebook and Linkedin.
- Extend post graduate training opportunities to members via online educational resources.
- Establish and develop a recognised, independently accredited qualification for Corneotherapuetic practitioners.
- Establishment and maintenance of a time current, world map of Corneotherapy.
